Preparing for the Enterprise Market

CHALLENGE - Transform a B2C Tool into an Enterprise-Ready Platform

BombBomb is an asynchronous video platform that optimizes internal and external professional communication. While successful in B2C, the existing design and tools were not built for Enterprise-level scalability.

As larger clients adopted the platform, they faced usability challenges, outdated tools, and workflows that didn’t support large-scale team collaboration. The goal was to redesign BombBomb to meet enterprise needs while maintaining its ease of use.

  • Outdated UX/UI – The existing interface was built for individual users, not for large teams.

  • Inefficient workflows – Enterprise users needed scalable solutions for managing video campaigns and assignments.

  • Customization limitations – The recording experience lacked flexibility for professional use cases.

As the Lead Product Designer, I led the redesign, ensuring BombBomb could serve enterprise users without alienating existing customers.

APPROACH - Research-Driven, Collaborative Design

The redesign prioritized user and stakeholder input to ensure the platform met real enterprise needs.

  • Client Interviews: Interviewed current and potential enterprise clients to understand expectations, pain points, and essential workflows.

  • Internal Collaboration: Engaged with sales and customer success teams to incorporate insights from fundamental client interactions.

  • Design Research: Studied existing enterprise design patterns and worked closely with developers to identify a CSS framework that could be implemented efficiently.

These insights shaped a user-centric and scalable redesign that aligned with enterprise expectations.

A Modern, Scalable Enterprise Experience

The redesign introduced modular, flexible components to support enterprise workflows while maintaining BombBomb’s core simplicity.

  • Campaigns & Assignments: Introduced a structured, team-friendly interface for managing video campaigns and tracking progress.

  • Video Recording Settings: We have added customization options for video size, camera, microphone, and background quality, ensuring a polished, professional experience.

  • Member Assignments Dashboard: We designed an intuitive dashboard that allowed team members to view, complete, and track assignments, including pre-approved scripts.

The new design system provided a consistent, scalable foundation that could evolve with the platform’s growth.

OUTCOME - Measurable Gains in Usability & Adoption

The redesigned BombBomb platform delivered tangible benefits for enterprise clients:

  • Improved usability: The new interface streamlined workflows, making it easier for teams to manage video communication.

  • Reduced onboarding time: Intuitive workflows helped new users quickly adopt the platform.

  • Enhanced scalability: The new design system and modern CSS frameworks supported future growth and feature expansion.

These updates positioned BombBomb as a competitive, enterprise-ready platform.

LESSONS - What Worked & What Didn’t

What Worked

  • User feedback drove meaningful improvements: Direct input from enterprise users shaped critical design decisions.

  • Scalability was prioritized early: Ensuring the design system could support future updates helped avoid technical debt.

  • Collaboration across teams led to a more substantial product. Sales, customer success, and engineering teams were crucial in refining the final experience.

What Didn’t Work (and What We’d Do Differently)

  • Some enterprise clients had unique workflows that required additional customization options. More flexibility in future iterations could address this need.

  • The transition from the old system required more structured onboarding materials to ease the learning curve for long-time users.

Scaling a Product for Enterprise Success

This redesign was more than a UI refresh—it was a strategic transformation that allowed BombBomb to scale into the enterprise market without losing its core ease of use.

By balancing user needs, enterprise requirements, and technical feasibility, we created a platform that could grow with large teams while maintaining the personal touch that made BombBomb successful.

This project underscored the value of iterative design, cross-functional collaboration, and user-driven insights in building enterprise-ready products.
